Dirac is a free and open source codec producing very high image quality video. The Schrödinger project is a project done by BBC R&D and Fluendo in order to create a set of high quality decoder and encoder libraries for the Dirac video codec.

Handy Yum Commands for schroedinger


Control the schroedinger package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install schroedinger

This command will install schroedinger on the server.

yum remove schroedinger

This command will un-install schroedinger on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove schroedinger, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove schroedinger

This command will un-install schroedinger on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove schroedinger when using the -y flag.

yum update schroedinger

This command will update schroedinger to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove schroedinger, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update schroedinger
