sxconsole is a tool used to extract various report types and then analyze those extracted reports with plug-ins. The tool also provides an archiving structure so that all the compressed and extracted reports are saved to a directory. This tool was developed for sysreport/sosreports but has been expanded to include any report that has a class defined.

Handy Yum Commands for sx


Control the sx package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install sx

This command will install sx on the server.

yum remove sx

This command will un-install sx on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove sx, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove sx

This command will un-install sx on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove sx when using the -y flag.

yum update sx

This command will update sx to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove sx, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update sx

This command will update sx to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove sx when using the -y flag.

yum info sx

This command will show you core information about the sx package.
