Description:

The Zarafa Collaboration Platform is a Microsoft Exchange replacement. The Open Source Collaboration provides an integration with your existing Linux mail server, native mobile phone support by ActiveSync compatibility and a webaccess with 'Look & Feel' similar to Outlook using Ajax. Including an IMAP and a POP3 gateway as well as an iCal/CalDAV gateway, the Zarafa Open Source Collaboration can combine the usability with the stability and the flexibility of a Linux server. The proven Zarafa groupware solution is using MAPI objects, provides a MAPI client library as well as programming interfaces for C++, PHP and Python. The other Zarafa related packages need to be installed to gain all features and benefits of the Zarafa Collaboration Platform (ZCP).

Handy Yum Commands for zarafa


Control the zarafa package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install zarafa

This command will install zarafa on the server.

yum remove zarafa

This command will un-install zarafa on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove zarafa, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove zarafa

This command will un-install zarafa on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove zarafa when using the -y flag.

yum update zarafa

This command will update zarafa to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove zarafa, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update zarafa

This command will update zarafa to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove zarafa when using the -y flag.

yum info zarafa

This command will show you core information about the zarafa package.

yum deplist zarafa

This command will show you the dependencies for zarafa. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

This command will check if there is an update waiting on zarafa. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
